About the Project

Throughout the 2022-23 school year, a portion of my job was to increase our efforts to promote trades and engineering careers in K-12 schools. At the conclusion of this endeavor, I was tasked with the creation of an executive report including an infographic of the efforts in our Ohio and Indiana markets. Below is the infographic flyer representing the total events involved, scope of employee support, and the estimated number of students directly impacted by Shook careers.

These efforts will be expanded to include our Mid-Atlantic Water region (North Carolina, South Carolina, & Virginia) during the 2023-24 school year. Additionally, this infographic is now used for promotional emails for partner school introduction to expand the efforts in Ohio and Indiana.

This project was completed using Adobe Photoshop. You will see the design choice to use Shook colors in the Future Workforce Development logo and typography. Also, the 2022-23 target schools are located in the background along with our corporate partners.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

Shook Construction's collaboration with Northmont, has helped students gain valuable exposure to the working world while improving their communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills to prepare them for lifelong learning and success in their future careers.  Students could ask questions and receive information on options beyond high school.  Shook's staff is professional, resourceful, and a great partner in education.

Ted Mergler – Construction Careers Instructor  (Northmont Middle School)

Representatives from Shook Construction spoke to our Career Exploration Class today and got these students out of their seats and engaged in learning about the careers available at Shook Construction. It is great to see companies like Shook working in the community and sharing the importance of careers in construction trades.
